Data Storage Systems

Data storage systems are means of informational safekeeping solution, developed for business needs. There are a few problems, caused by a big amount of computers in a business infrastructure or remote subsidiary companies, which can be solved by application of modern data storage systems:

Data Storage System

• Data decentralization. A few years ago all the company data could be kept on one hard disk, but today any functional system needs to be supported by e-mail servers, databases, domains and so on. For international and interurban companies a situation is complicated by a number of offices and personal computers.

• Continual informational accumulation, leading to an increase of a hard disks amount and development of additional VPS.

• Low protective level of corporate information. It is difficult to supervise an expanded informational exchange system. A control aspect is related to local networks and physical approachability to data carriers, as hard disks. Any data carriers can be used for informational theft, substitution or damage. Unqualified personnel actions may harm corporate functional system. As a rule, corporate secure systems are more efficient then local office protective means.

• Complex data flow management. Documentation procedures may vary in different company branches, depending on the type of software. This may result in improper data synchronization and unnecessary duplication of files and messages.

• Depreciation of classic information management systems. As a rule, traditional data storage requires constant funds investment equal to files accumulation. Archival depositories need to be services and maintained.
